Which cards are suitable?+
Modern and vintage trading cards may be suitable. Every card is assessed from photographs first; Kodap Cleans may decline work where treatment would be unsafe or unlikely to help.
What can cleaning remove?+
Surface dirt, grime, fingerprints and some residues often respond well. Results depend on the card, coating, age and previous handling.
Can scratches be removed?+
Light surface marks may look less distracting after treatment, but holo scratching and deeper scratches require assessment and may be permanent.
Can you improve scratches, creases or warping?+
Some cards may respond to careful restoration work, but suitability and results vary considerably. Kodap Cleans will assess the card first and explain what may improve, what is likely permanent and any relevant risks. No level of improvement is guaranteed.
Will cleaning improve the grade?+
No grading result can be promised. Cleaning may improve presentation, but grading companies assess many factors outside Kodap Cleans’ control.
How long does it take?+
Treatment time depends on the condition of your card and the work required. An estimated timescale will be confirmed with your quote. It runs from the date Kodap Cleans is permitted to begin work, excludes inbound and return transit time, and is not a guaranteed deadline.
How should I package my card?+
Use a penny sleeve, Card Saver or toploader, team bag, rigid cardboard, bubble protection and a secure outer parcel. Full guidance is provided after acceptance.
What happens when my card arrives?+
It is logged, given a KC reference, photographed, stored separately and checked against the accepted assessment before work starts.
How are valuable cards protected?+
Cards are handled individually and documented before and after treatment. For inbound postage, choose a tracked service with compensation appropriate to the declared value and check the carrier’s terms.
How does return postage work?+
After an assessment is accepted, you pay for the service through Stripe and choose your return-postage option at the same checkout. Royal Mail Tracked 48 with protective packaging is £4.25 for cards valued up to £75; Royal Mail Special Delivery with protective packaging is £10.95 for cards valued from £75 to £750. Contact Kodap Cleans before paying if a card is valued above £750. Carrier compensation remains subject to the carrier’s terms and eligibility rules.
Which cards might you refuse?+
Kodap Cleans may decline cards with unstable materials, severe structural damage, unclear ownership, unrealistic expectations or risks that outweigh likely improvement.
